Removing several outdated additions that distorted the historic building, the new 8,000-square-foot annex is separated from the historic building with a glazed entry and "common living room" offering the views of Laurel Lake and Berkshire hills beyond. Clad in gray weathered shiplap siding the annex’s contemporary aesthetic contrasts playfully with the original building and echoes its proportions.
